SlumberPod Co-Founders Lou Childs and Katy Mallory were recognized as Entrepreneurs of the Year by the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber’s Annual Meeting was held on November 30, 2021, at the Bibb Mill Event Center in Columbus, Georgia.
This mother-daughter team is no stranger to the Columbus area, as they were a part of the original class of StartUp Columbus, an incubator program that helps entrepreneurs get started and find investors. “We are thrilled with this recognition!,” said Childs. “Columbus has a special place in our hearts and we will always be grateful for the time we spent building our company here, and the support of the local business community. A lot of what I learned about being a successful entrepreneur came from my employers in this city.”
“We are grateful to members of the Columbus community who believed in us and our ideas, and invested in us early on.,” said Mallory. “My mother is the finest example of a hardworking businesswoman, and I’m honored to accept this recognition alongside her.”
